The deuterium lamp is the ultraviolet light source of the ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer. The wavelength range of the light is usually the continuous spectral band of 190~400nm. The wavelength range of the deuterium lamp is generally 190~360nm. The deuterium lamp has a characteristic line at 486.0nm, 583.0nm and 656.1nm three. It is often used as the theoretical wavelength value of calibrating instrument (656.1nm and 486.0nm are used most, and 583.0nm is used very little, because it is not sharp enough, and it also has small peaks).

The deuterium lamp is widely used in the UV detector of liquid chromatograph, the UV VIS spectrophotometer, the electrophoretic instrument, the SOx/NOx analyzer, the blood examination and so on.

classification

At present, there are many kinds of deuterium lamps commonly used at home and abroad, if they can be roughly divided into two kinds according to their pins, one is three deuterium lamps with pins (or socket type), the other is three deuterium lamps with pin pins. The deuterium lamp with three pins is usually marked with the cathode and anode to facilitate the identification of the user. At present, the deuterium lamp produced abroad is basically a deuterium lamp with three feet in the form of a few enterprises. Such as Japan's Hitachi, the United States RCA, British Cathde, Germany's new force and other company products. In the deuterium lamp, there are two pins for the cathode (generally black), and one for the anode (usually red). Most of the deuterium lamps produced in our country are deuterium lamps with three pin lead modes. Characteristic spectral line

The deuterium lamp is the most commonly used standard lamp to detect the wavelength accuracy of the ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer. Most of the imported UV VIS spectrophotometer all use the deuterium lamp on the instrument to detect the wavelength accuracy. Domestic ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer, with automatic scanning instrument, mid-range and above, are used to detect deuterium lamp on the instrument wavelength accuracy (such as TU-1900, TU-1901, UV-2100, TU-1810 and SP-2500 can realize the automatic wavelength scanning instrument); but the domestic "75" series of UV VIS spectrophotometer, many instruments can not automatically scan, such as 751, 752, 753, 754, 755, such as UV VIS spectrophotometer, with deuterium lamp on the instrument detection wavelength not accuracy.

Pay special attention to two points: first, the spectral bandwidth of more than 2nm above the instrument with deuterium lamp on the instrument detection wavelength accuracy can not, because the roots of the characteristic spectral lines of 656.1nm is very sharp, prone to error; second, instrument manufacturers, not only the deuterium lamp wavelength detection accuracy, because the visible wavelength accuracy. Can not completely replace the ultraviolet wavelength accuracy.
